Recommended Lists for cereals and oilseeds – RL interactive tool

This is an interactive version of the tables published as part of the Recommended Lists for cereals and oilseeds (RL). Use it to identify varieties that meet your specific market, yield, disease resistance, agronomic and quality requirements.

What is RL interactive?

RL interactive brings the static crop-specific variety tables^* to life. You can use the tool to:

• Select varieties for specific end-use markets
• Specify the minimum fungicide-treated yield requirements
• Identify varieties with specific resistance to pests, diseases and lodging
• Find varieties based on ripening and quality data
• Compare varieties side by side
• Export results to use in spreadsheets and to print

*Important notes

• The tool is based on RL 2025/26 data (released 2 December 2024)
• At present, it is based on the full winter wheat recommended list
• It will be rolled out to cover other major RL crops during 2025

Use RL interactive

To get started:

1. Ensure you are signed in (top of the page).
2. Select a crop to display all varieties for that specific recommended list in the table.
3. Navigate the table with the scrollbars (at the right and bottom edges).
4. Use and 'Apply filters' (first blue button) to narrow down the variety list.
5. Click 'Reset filters' (second blue button) to start again.
6. Click 'Excel' to export results.

What is the variety selection tool?

The variety selection tool is also based on the full lists for the major RL crops. However, it looks very different to the tabulated data in RL interactive. It provides more ways to interrogate variety trial data. For example, it includes information on agronomic merit and lets you focus on specific trial sites (to reveal fungicide treatment benefit and to examine variety performance in particular regions).
